Demsoc Brighton & Hove supports democracy and innovation locally, running events such as CityCamp Brighton and supporting participation and discussion events like the Chamber of Commerce’s State of the City debate, and the pilot council programme We Live Here.
We are a membership organisation, and are looking to build the number of active members we have in the city to help create and shape these events, and to support better public conversations about the issues that matter.
If you care about the city, and want to make it a more creative and democratic place, we’d ask you to think about joining. Joining costs £3 a month, or more if you can afford it. It may be a relatively small amount of money for many people – but it’s a commitment to a better and more partcipative democracy, and to an organisation that works to make that happen.
As a member, you’ll get regular updates on our work, priority booking for all our events in Brighton & Hove and elsewhere, and a vote on Demsoc’s work. You’ll also join a group of like-minded people who are trying to make the city a better and more open society.
If you want to know more, talk to us. If you want to make that commitment, sign up here.
I would like to hear more about the new City Plan. Where can I see this? Best, Paul
Paul – the City Plan itself is here: http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/index.cfm?request=c1148443
but over the next couple of weeks we’ll be pulling out some key issues and putting them into simple language here on the blog.
